Not long ago, I bought the Saucony Guide 18 Wide. They were potentially great, but I unfortunately discovered that the arch support bothered me too much, as I have flat feet.
So I opted for the New Balance Fresh Foam X880 v15 (pictured). The support is neutral and the width is extra wide, but only on paper. The shoe still compresses the foot at the arch and creates a very unpleasant feeling of heat and friction. The most comfortable shoes I own are the Altra Lone Peak 9 and a pair of Barefoot Saguaro that I really wish had a cushioned sole.
I would like to have some more "elegant" shoes. I'm really demoralized.
