After I started watching hockey last week (I generally only watch for the playoffs or to see Celebrini), I made the huge mistake of choosing to support the lightning. I became a fan because I thought they were supposed to be the best team in the league, but as I’ve watched their games, I’ve noticed a huge problem- their power play sucks. So I’ve decided to suggest a rule change. Instead of getting a man advantage, the Lightning get .2 goals for every power play they’re awarded. These wouldn’t mean anything until they reach one, upon which they would be awarded a full goal. This would save fans from having to watch the shitty lightning power play, and means the team might actually get a goal once in a while. Also, it would discourage against penalties so less fighting breaking up the game. And don’t worry Habs fan, this would only apply to the bolts so your team can continue to be power play merchants. Mr. Bettman, if you see this, I also have suggestions on face offs, nudity at games, and the salary cap.
