1350 to 1510 in 2 Weeks
I went from a 1350 to a 1510 in about 2 weeks, and it honestly wasn’t from grinding nonstop or doing anything crazy.
It came down to fixing a few key things:
First, I stopped taking full practice tests over and over. I thought that was the best way to improve, but I kept making the same mistakes and not actually fixing them. Once I started focusing on specific weaknesses instead, my score improved way faster.
Second, I started using real resources instead of random free ones online. The quality difference is huge. The questions on official or high-quality materials are way closer to the actual SAT, so the practice actually translates.
Third, I realized math and grammar are basically expected to be near perfect, while reading is more about consistency over time. For math and grammar, I focused on getting everything right and eliminating careless mistakes. For reading, it was more about practice and getting comfortable with the patterns rather than trying to “master” it instantly.
That shift in mindset made a big difference.
I’m not saying everyone can jump 160 points in 2 weeks, but I do think a lot of people are studying in ways that don’t actually lead to score increases.
If you’re in the 1300–1400 range right now, what do you feel is holding your score back?
How to start studying for SAT?
I don’t understand why I couldn’t post it in text so have to pin a screenshot of my post :(

Ik Im being a bit ambitious here, but I can not pay for resources and I need all the help I can get. I have used Khan Academy, Oneprep and youtube but I just feel like I need more targeted practice, especially in math. Drop them below, thanks in advance :)
School Day SAT 4/7/2026
What did everyone think about the school SAT? The reading was really hard for me because everything was so long and the data table ones took too long. Also for the bullet points you actually have to read the notes now?? Math was easy tho
Should I retake a 1560?
I got a 1560 on the December SAT. The score breakdown was a 770 English and a 790 Math. I was initially happy but now people are telling me that I should retake and try to super score if I want to be competitive in admissions. Im not really sure because I have finals in June and I want to focus on applications in August.
AI generated OnePrep question?
This was in the “score predictor” 20 question test. The text looks AI generated with half of the words making no sense.
To clarify, no hate on OnePrep, I use their website a lot and this is the first weird question I’ve seen.
Pls help me I’m loosing hair and sleep..
Pls help me I’m losing hair
Ok so I’m a junior and I feel like I’m running out of time for test scores I goofed of sophomore year summer and have been super busy this entire year with 10+ classes, rn I have a 1360 March sat and 28 act (didn’t try too much) I’ve been mainly studying for sat when I have time but I don’t even think it’s helping I still am in like 1390 range and I plan to apply ivy and Idk if I will make it to 1500 easily, also I heard for ivy the best case is 1560+ which is so hard for sat. However a lot of my friends have made similar sat scores have made 33,34+ on act but now I’m scared it’s too late to switch and I just also don’t know what to do I feel like so lost and I feel like I’m running out of time , I also don’t do well with fast paced act but I don’t do well with complexity of sat reading, I can’t leave 600 range , I just got an sat tutor but should I just leave it and focus on act or what, also will colleges view a 34 better than 1520 even tho 34 is easier to get??? Like it seems like because there is smaller thresholds for sat they are judged more than the large thresholds for act
Pls someone help me.. I’m scared I will spent months on June sat just for it not to pay off and then I will for sure be out of time, is it possible to study for both…? Like if I work my ass off for June sat and then I took June act I might get a decent score and depending on that I could take July act???? Idk
I need at 1400 by June SAT

Should I retake the Sat
I'm a highschool junior and I want to try to go into UCLA/Berkley. I'm aware they don't take any sat. During fall junior year I got a 1360 which was pretty low from the practice test which I usually average 1400's range (Around 690-700 reading) and (700-780 math), as of now I haven't practiced at all and haven't taken another test since that fall exam but should I try to prepare again and aim for a higher score or is it even worth the time and effort preparing?
is this a good start from the PSAT 9?
is this ok for the PSAT 9? My school made us take it in the fall. I'm currently in honors geometry but since this was in the fall there was a ton of stuff I didn't know-skipped probably like 10 questions. I'd like to score 1500 ish on the SAT when I'm eligible so I'm wondering if is this is a good start?
I’m genuinely losing sleep over this.
I took the Bluebook SAT practice test 9 yesterday and got a 1350, which I felt decent about since I want to get a 1400. I took the practice test 10 today and my score dropped 50 points, this was after practice on my weaker areas like Standard English conventions and Trig. Why did my score drop so much? My SAT is in 10 days, I want so badly to get a 1400, but I’m losing hope in it even being possible.
I’m genuinely losing hope, any advice, predictions, or resources would be tremendously helpful.
