I had a customer recently wanting to trade-in her 2015 Kia Sorento and get into something newer.
She wanted to check the new Kia Sportage.
We went on a test drive but she didn’t like it much, she said she wants more space as her Sorento is bigger in size.
Her finances wouldn’t allow her to buy a new Sorento.
Anw after the test drive she figured that the Sportage is probably not for her, we didn’t even go into numbers.
Before she decided to leave, the sales manager sat down with her, but still she decided that she doesn’t want Sportage.
I saw her recently in my neighbourhood, she told me she bought a Hyundai Tucson, which is basically a Kia Sportage with a Hyundai badge.
I felt that maybe I should’ve been a bit more pushy and try to convince her that the Sportage is a good fit for her.
In general, the dealerships I worked at so far, the top salesmen were actually too pushy with customers. They only care about one thing, selling them the car even if they don’t want it or like it.
