I just pulled into the driveway tonight and heard a hissing sound coming from my heat pump. When I went and checked it out it looked like a steam train was blowing off steam and the fan wasn't running. I tried spinning the fan to get it going and nothing happened. I just shut off the breaker and the hissing stopped. Here's a picture I took earlier in the week because I think that dark spot is new, but the steam looked like it was coming from the compressor or near compressor not this dark spot. I'm in swfl so it's almost 90° daily now. I know I'm going to have to have someone out, but what's a good description of my issue? Leak and low refrigerant? I'm going to bed and will reply to any questions in the morning.
