Transporting long guns in a truck.

So what’s the best way to legally and safely transport the shotgun and Ar15 I’m picking up from the gun store after the 10 day wait. I have a hard enclosed case for each that has a combination lock. I also have a small back seat area in the truck just to be clear. There’s a small place in the bed (in the photo) where I can run a lock through. It is bolted to the truck as you can see just to be clear. I can get a better lock than the one in the photo but it’s there so you can get the idea. So should I lock the cases in the bed of the truck with that system (I would get a better lock) or should I put both cases in the back seat area of the truck and if so on top of the seat or underneath (hidden I suppose) I do not want to do anything illegal. I have already googled and tried researching but sometimes asking people in the community in the best route. Most laws talk about cars and i clearly don’t have a trunk so what do us truck guys and gals do to be safe and legal. I probably won’t have ammo but just for future reference is there anything I should know about ammo? I already know ammo can’t be in the chambers, mags, or in the same cases at all with any of the guns. So besides that anything else? Huge help thank you!

I just bought this maverick 88 and wondering what the break in process will be for it. I’ll be sure to ask the gun store workers when I pick them up after the 10 day California waiting period. What should I expect to hear? Thank you for any info. And yes I know the stock is going to hurt I’ve heard many bad things about it already but it reminded me of Jurassic park when I bought it haha

I live in California so im waiting for the 10 day waiting period to end so I can pick it up. I’m sure it’ll come with a manual and I’ll ask the gun store workers what the break in process is. What should i expect to hear? Thanks for any info. This is my 3rd gun and I bought my first gun a few weeks ago haha.

It started with a used Springfield armory 1911. Loved it and went back to the gun store yesterday for a shotgun and ended up getting this Maverick 88 new. Then today on my lunch break I went back to pay for a Smith and Wesson MP15 sport 3. They up charged me $100 for the sight but I went for the bait. California has a 10 day wait period but that just gives me time to get ammo and cases for everything. I already put 250 rounds through the 1911 and it was amazing.

I was gonna get the Winchester I’ve been eyeing but the dealer was not encouraging because it was 20 gauge. They didn’t even have ammo for it (they said they could prob order it) so I decided to get a maverick 88 after a quick reddit convinced me of its legitness. People said it’s a good shotgun for the money. Paid $400 after all the fees and taxes in California. I wasn’t sure what version to get but the folded stock reminded me so much of Jurassic park so I had to. I have to name this shotgun “clever girl” now.

This was recorded in months before the movie hype, but that’s irrelevant because I’m posting it now 🙃

I actually had a dentist appointment an hour before I recorded this video. Disposable Hero’s by Metallica circa 1986.
