I’m in about week 8/9 of call taking training. I’ve been answering 911s for about 5 weeks now. The process has been up and down but today was a tough day. It was my first time taking calls that weren’t super direct and that had multiple things going on and I didn’t successfully complete all aspects of the call. Is this normal? Sometimes I worry I’m not cut out for this career, but I want it so badly. I know what I need to do and say but sometimes in the moment it just doesn’t happen. Is this something that will improve with time? It’s tough having other coworkers and higher ups saying to my face I’m doing well, but little comments and actions that make me think otherwise.
