[pixarplacehotel] some photos and Easter eggs around the property
This is my story of the repair process for my Fujifilm x100VI. I recently was taking some photos here in Hawaii and I noticed that ALL of my photos had these weird lines in the same place in the upper right field (see pics). Of course I checked the lens for cleanliness and everything was fine. I then googled the problem and also came to Reddit and it seemed that the issue was some sort of damage on the sensor. I found something describing a cracked glass that’s over the sensor and that it can happen if you drop or hit the camera hard enough. I’ve always been gentle with my x100vi (although I had a repair done on the power switch and everything was fine thereafter). I took my x100vi to the camera shop that I purchased it from and they seemed to agree it was some sort of internal damage and to remedy this, I should take care of repairs directly with Fujifilm. So, I requested a sales receipt (the also gave me an invoice copy of my purchase). My x100vi was still within the 1-year warranty). I then went online to the Fujifilm repair website (see form I screenshot), filled it out by hand (the typed version wouldn’t work for some reason on any browser or desktop), I followed every direction that the form required (receipt and paperwork), went to fedex, sent it out with the prepaid box (cost me around $30 from Hawaii). It arrived to the Edison NJ location and I got an email stating my camera had arrived and also a tracking number to see the progress of my repairs. Fast forward about 11 days from the time I shipped it out, my camera came back to me bubble wrapped and working fine! I took a few sample shots to show the repairs (see attached). I included the repairman’s notes and it said that the sensor was dirty and that something was replaced. Best part of all? No costs! It only cost me the shipping to get my x100vi repaired. I hope this was informative and helps anyone who is skeptical on the repair process.
