UPDATE: I just sucked it up and called the hospital. It’s almost midnight but they answered right away, transferred me to a nurse in his unit, and she said she’ll go there right away and change his underwear lololll. She was so nice. Well that was easy. This sucks my poor dad I really don’t know how I’m gonna handle this aging thing I’m getting depressed already.

Ok this is the first time I’ve experienced a parent be vulnerable like this… but my dad fractured his knee, my mom brought him to the emergency room. He was admitted for further tests deciding if he will do I/p pt or surgery. He’s now on his second night there (1 night ER, 1 night I/P). He told me he’s been in the same underwear he came there in. He feels gross. He said he asked the nurse about it and they told him he stays in that same underwear, that’s just the way it goes (he’s not incontinent or anything but since he can’t walk he goes to the bathroom in a bowl or something idk I don’t ask for details haha).
Anyways, This seems crazy to me they haven’t changed him into hospital underwear. My mom even brought him a fresh pair from home that are sitting in a shopping bag in his room. He’s not comfortable if he isn’t showered so on top of that not having fresh underwear is the saddest thing.
I want to say something to the hospital but before I do, I just want to ask if anyone here has experienced a situation like this. I don’t want to be out of line asking if I’m not suppose to.
