Have people figured out how to cheat yet? Re: global leaderboard times
Regarding global leaderboards - are the fastest times of each stage legitimate?
My general experience with any racing game that has a global leaderboard for ‘lap times’ is that inevitably over the course of the game’s lifespan people end up cheating, and the fastest times are bogus. Sometimes it’s completely obvious where a stage that takes 5+ minutes will have a top leaderboard time of 20 total seconds or whatever. I remember a bunch of the Dirt franchise games were like that. From what I’m seeing in AC Rally, that doesn’t appear to be the case at the moment—at least not that bad.
I got 16th place on the global leaderboard for a particular time attack stage yesterday, and in looking at the fastest time on the leaderboard, I had a moment thinking to myself ‘hmm I wonder if that #1 time is legit or not’. Just curious if others think things are wholesome and truthful these days.
