Neighbor Becomes Psychotic Over My Parking Spot
My apartment complex has reserved parking that SOME of us pay for monthly. A lot of my neighbors opt of paying but when there aren’t enough visitor spots they will go to my spot by default and even tell their guests to park in any reserved spots which happened to me the other day. I guess this particular person intended to leave their car there for multiple days bc they didn’t show up looking for their car until almost two days later.
The neighbor and her guest (male) went into full blown psycho mode (all recorded on my ring camera and witnessed by police and their body cameras). Threatening to assault me and inviting me out to fight. This all happened when they approached my door asking where their car is and if I got them towed which is odd bc the sign at the entrance of the community contains all that information.
I advised them that they were parked in a reserved spot so they were consequently towed. I’ve never seen this person or their car before. I even told them I beeped my horn for way too long trying to get the attention of people in the neighborhood. I advised them that the private parking tow sign has all the info they need about parking rules.
Now they have riled up other people in the community falsely claiming that their car was illegally towed by me and trying to do some revisionist thing with the information outlined in the sign as well as everyone’s lease. They even convinced another neighbor that they have the right to pursue me for the fees for the tow.
It obviously doesn’t work like that and that would be a huge liability for the tow company. I called the company to confirm everything and they told me the owner of that vehicle that got towed is in the wrong. Everyone who pays for reserved parking, park in spots numbered with the number that corresponds to the tag hanging in their car, which is how they know who to tow. These people are cheap and obsessed with circumventing the rules of private property by not paying $25 a month fee for a spot so really there’s no reasoning.
Law enforcement was useless. Listened to numerous threats made towards me while other neighbors just looked and shrugged their shoulders. The police gave me a pamphlet to file an order but they never took down any identification so as a result I can’t actually do anything. This sucks and this is just further confirmation that I need to move
