Anyone else seeing "Batch Grading" patterns lately? Feeling stuck with my last few PSA returns.
Hey everyone,
I’m looking for some honest feedback or to see if anyone else is experiencing the same pattern. I’ve been submitting to PSA for a while, but my last couple of bulk returns have been... confusing, to say the least.
The Process: I don’t submit blindly. Every single card I send in is thoroughly evaluated and pre-screened beforehand. I only send what I believe has a legitimate shot at a 10.
The Issue: In my last two submissions, I’ve noticed an eerie consistency where multiples of the same card type all receive the exact same grade, regardless of individual condition.
For example:
Multiple Silver Prizms of the same player — all got the same grade. 8’s
Multiple Scopes of different players — all got the same grade. 7’s
A run of Mosaic Notoriety inserts — all got the same grade. 8’s
It feels statistically improbable that every single card in these subsets would have the exact same flaws, especially after being pre-screened. It almost feels like once a "level" was established for that card type in the bin, everything else followed suit.
At this point, I’m at a loss. What would you do?
Crack and Regrade? Is it worth the extra capital to try again, or am I just throwing money at a wall?
Cut Losses? Just accept the grades, sell what I can, and move on?
The "Karen" Route? Is there even a point in reaching out to PSA, or will they just give me the standard "grading is subjective" PR answer?
Has anyone else noticed this "batching" effect recently? Would love to hear how you handled it or if you’ve had success cracking and resubmitting these types of runs.
Thanks in advance.
