Why do people disappear during the dynasty offseason?

Something I’ve noticed across multiple dynasty leagues is that activity completely dies for some managers once the NFL season ends. During the season they’re active in lineup decisions, waivers, trash talk, etc., but once the offseason starts they vanish for months.
I’m genuinely curious why this happens because to me the offseason is one of the best parts of dynasty — rookie scouting, trades, strategy shifts, rebuilding, startup planning, etc.
For people who tend to go inactive in the offseason:
What causes it?

Burnout from fantasy football?

Lack of rookie knowledge?

No interest unless games are being played?

Busy with other hobbies/sports?

Team isn’t competitive so motivation drops?

League culture isn’t active enough?

And for commissioners:
What have you done that actually helps keep leagues engaged year-round?

Do offseason activities help?

More group chat interaction?

Earlier rookie drafts?

I’m trying to understand whether this is just normal dynasty behavior or if there are ways to build leagues that stay active all year.
