Where to even start on this yard? I feel lost.

My wife and I just bought our first house. It was an estate sale, and the yard had not really been kept up for a while. It looks awful, and we don’t really know where to begin. These are just a few pictures. Didn’t even include the backyard or majority of sideyard which is just as bad. We want to focus on the stuff that’s visible from the road first so the neighbors don’t hate us. We don’t need it to look great, just to not look bad.
There’s weeds add random growth all over, decaying fixtures, and the grass is basically non existent.
What would you do to accomplish the goal of not looking bad? We don’t want to spend a ton of money, as we just put a large down payment down to buy this, and also just found out that my wife is unexpectedly pregnant with our first child. Also, we’re just frugal as hell.
We’re in the Seattle area if that matters. Thanks in advance for any advice.

My wife would really like our upstairs carpet removed as the previous owner had cats and her allergies are awful. I’m torn between “maybe I can do this myself” and “there’s no way I can do this”.
One of the bigger concerns I have is leveling the subfloor. I’m just curious, do all subfloors generally need flattening, or are many just fine the way they are?
She’s 6 weeks pregnant and wouldn’t want to be breathing in self leveler. I know I won’t know for sure until I rip the carpet up and check, just looking to get an idea. Thanks for any input.

My wife and I just bought a house. The carpet upstairs is really causing her allergies to flare up (previous owner had cats and she’s allergic). We want to replace it with LVP but are concerned what it might look like transitioning from the hardwood stairs. Any recommendations on what would look best? Neither of us are very skilled in the interior decorating department and fear that we’ll commit to something that looks ridiculous.
Thanks for any suggestions.
