I never thought the day I post this on this Reddit page would come.
I got my I-485 approval notice today and wanted to share my timeline to give some hope to anyone else currently waiting. I am adjusting my status from F-1 to an Employment-Based Green Card. The process moved surprisingly fast for me.
Here is my timeline:
- Category: EB3 Professional (ROW; Not part of 75 countries)
- Priority Date (PD): September 22, 2023
- I-485 Received Date (RD): February 13, 2026
- Biometrics Scheduled: February 28, 2026
- Biometrics Appointment Taken: March 20, 2026
- I-485J Approved: April 29, 2026
- I-485 Approved: April 30, 2026
- EAD/AP Card: Still Pending
Given my PD is in September 2023, I honestly thought my case would be approved a few months later because I have seen lately that people 3-5 months ahead of me in PD are just now getting approvals.
Like so many others here, it has been a very difficult time for me—not being able to chase opportunities freely when they arose, or even see my grandmother in my home country. She is suffering from dementia and has been asking when I will come home for many years. Now, I can finally go see her and my family, as well as continue chasing my American dream.
