So by the title of this post I’m just trying to understand or see the light for where all this segregation, hatred, and just pure bullshit came from. I read a post in this subreddit today that referred to Scientology, religion, and politics about EDM artists and even Insomniacs CEO. I love this festival and the community that it has built but i feel as if things have taken a major turn and are a lil spun out of proportion. Why are people being attacked for their religious or political beliefs? Aren’t we all entitled to our own views? Just because my view doesn’t align with your view doesn’t make me or you a bad person, but in this day and age with where our community has grown to it sure seems like it’s gone that way.
I get that the world is a little chaotic right now, it kind of has been since Covid really but I feel like the “family” aspect of this festival has changed. It’s definitely different while we’re at the festival itself but I feel like the 361 days outside of this festival every year, there’s constantly judging, arguing, and attacking people for having specific beliefs/opinions.
We’re supposed to accept everyone for who they are and have a great time together. That is what Electric Forest is all about. When people are constantly pointing the finger and being rude to others because their views don’t align, that’s when chaos erupts.
Take a deep breath and be happy we’re alive and going to Electric Forest.
Maybe smoke a little weed too oh and drink some water !
