Rant: men starting a conversation and not being engaged
So, I’ve been single for a little while. I’m a little bored, so I thought: let’s try the apps again. I match with this guy, totally my type. Let me paint the picture here:
My bio is ‘Just a curvy gal looking for a tall guy with some big arms’ following with some personal info.
His bio is ‘Don’t say hey, give me three assumptions you have on me based on my profile ..’ following with some personal info.
He opens the chat by ‘You had me at curvy’. So I respond ‘You had me at 6’4’ and ‘Assumptions, mhh. You seem like you carry all the groceries in one trip, and you have golden retriever energy with being up for side quests. How am I doing?’
What does he do? He responds: ‘Oof, good catch’.
….. and that’s it.
Why on EARTH would you start a chat if you are not even remotely interested in being engaged in the conversation?? I’m 30. I don’t have time for this. Even though I’m on the couch having girl dinner, watching a true crime documentary, with my cats on my lap. I missed an interesting part of the documentary because I took the time to think about assumptions, so I had to rewind. Why??? I hate dating.
