Sudden change in routine

10 weeks old. Second time mum but first time breastfeeding. My first was EBM until 4 months then formula due to poor latch so this is newish territory for me.

I have been blessed with a good night sleeper so far.

Previous night routine was 5-6 hour stretch then a 3-4 hour stretch. He would then spend all morning feeding every 2 hours, inconvenient but I prefer that over a sleepless night. Feeds would then stretch out again in the afternoon

The last few nights he’s been sleeping a 6-8 hour stretch for the first part of the night then a 2-3 hour stretch. Yesterday and today he hasn’t done his usual cluster feeds during the morning. He’s also only taking 6 feeds instead of his usual 7-8 feeds but they are more evenly spaced through the day.

Is he just adjusting because he can go longer between feeds now and is making his routine? Output is still perfect, no temperament changes.

I’m not upset about the change but my boobs are 😆 I’m just wondering if I should expect a flip flopping routine for a bit.

We broke the cycle 😊

Parenting WIN!!

When I was a kid I would get in heaps of trouble if I made a mistake. My mum yelled and screamed to the point we were afraid of it happening.

This morning my toddler dropped a plate and while he froze he didn’t cry or try to hide. Dad was with him and had slippers on so was able to put the baby down and lift the toddler out of the glass. He then listened when he was asked to stay put while we cleaned it up.

If that was me and my parents I would have been crying because I would be getting in trouble for it. I’m just glad that as much as I need to rouse on him sometimes at least he’s not afraid of making a mistake.
