New Case Day! LTD H3-1007B

New Case Day! I got this seven string baritone last year for a great price I couldn't refuse, $600 USD, but it didn't come with a case and I was very resistant to spending the $200 that ESP wanted for the model-specific form fitted one on their website. However, I realized that the more I played the guitar and the more in love with it I became, it really deserved a cozy new case.

I've been playing electric guitar for about 10 years now, but only this last year have I gotten into pedals. Before that, I pretty much just kept the setting fixed on my Line 6 Spider III to "masterpups" and called it good, focusing instead on practicing technique instead of delving too much into pedals. I was also poor and/or a student at that time, but this last year I've invested more in developing my own sound. I do have a question, however, and would love some channel recommendations if you have them.

There are no shortage of YouTube channels that review pedals, giving detailed explanations and demos of what the pedal does and what it can achieve. But I'm struggling to find channels that discuss HOW to compose songs that tastefully use the various effects for a given style; for instance, how and when to use fuzz in a mix, or how and when to use distortion, delay, reverb, modulation, etc, to achieve various results. Pretty much everyone I speak to says "dial to taste," "experiment" or just "do what sounds good." I get that, makes perfect sense, but I'm looking for channels that delve more deeply into the compositional aspects of guitar effects. I understand it will vary greatly according to style and taste, but there has to be something out there. Thanks!
