I'm an idiot and I need help (DeX/VLC)

I use a usb-c to HDMI adaptor to watch TV with my S24u. I use the VLC app with my phone as a touch pad and it's worked great for a couple of years. I updated my phone yesterday after putting it off for ages, and nothing behaves anymore. I really need help with the following issues, I'm not very good at computer and I lack the vocabulary to google this issue effectively. I've tried reinstalling everything, a factory reset of the phone, and also poring through the DeX, Samsung, and VLC settings - but everything I find online seems to be outdated and mentions settings that aren't there anymore. VLC works flawlessly on my phone, it's just with DeX it breaks. The behaviour is identical whether I open a video with vlc, or open vlc then select a video.

The first issue one is by far the biggest one, the rest decrease in severity... but I would be so grateful if I could get some help with any of these.

  • VLC is now stuck in full screen, but the taskbar start menu thing down the bottom is always visible. Once a video starts, you can move the pointer around, but it no longer has any controls(even if you move the mouse to each edge), tapping and swiping do nothing but move the pointer. A horizontal swipe with 3 fingers 'alt tabs', but that's all I could find. There is no maximize or minimize or full screen controls at all.

  • Audio doesn't stop when I close the video player on DeX, it keeps coming through the tv speakers. There are no relevant controls on the tv or the phone; it only stops when the file ends, I force stop vlc, or I unplug the phone from the tv.

  • The sound often comes out the wrong device, and the 'change output device' is now missing when you click the speaker in the system tray.

  • VLC now seems to launch within 'My Files', rather than getting its own window and icon on the taskbar.

  • DeX auto starts when I plug the phone in, instead of when I actually pull down the shade and hit "DeX".

I really just want this to work the same as it did a couple of days ago.

About 3 months ago, I was cajoled into promising my players that the first person who both won by nominating the demon and won as the demon could create 3 homebrew charactes; and that I would run at least one of them. Today it actually happened, and I've suddenly realized I'm not capable of judging the power level of these at all. I would love advice on scripts, and any changes I should make before I actually try to run one of these monsters. Ive reworded them some in an attempt to make them clear

Char 1: Ravana(demon). Each night* if you did not wake last night, choose 3 players; one dies tonight, and 2 will die tomorrow night. If you choose at least one live minion this way, all 3 will die tonight, and you will wake tomorrow night.

I kind of like the sound of this. It allows for a lot of fakery, and I do enjoy the incentive to kill minions. I feel like it is balanced by the fact the ST chooses the death order and there is no guarantee the selected players will survive until the following night. I don't really understand the name though, I guess it's something to do with sacrificing his own heads.

Char 2: Dybukka(demon): You think you are a townsfolk. Each night* every player must vote by pointing at a player. At least one player with the fewest (non zero) votes will die. The first time a Dybbuk dies this way, they become good, then a minion becomes the Dybbuk and learns this.[+Minion]

This sounds really difficult to run, I can't have players trying to point with their eyes shut, so I'd have to wake everyone every night. I still kind of want to give this a try but I feel there might be a way for good to exploit this that I'm missing. It would normally announce itself a lot like an al-hadikhia, but the next character takes care of that. I think it could be quite fun watching teams trying to preempt each other's votes.

Char 3: Dybbukette(minion): Each night* every player must vote by pointing at a player. The good player with the most votes is poisoned until tomorrow. ST breaks ties. [-Dybbukka]

I think this is clever, it hides whether the previous character is in play, and also flips the voting logic. I think id have to be really careful with roles like the fool that can confirm poison if I used these. On its own it looks dull and hard work for the ST, it's only real purpose is to obfuscate a possible dybukka.

Char 4: Hipster(outsider): You might be evil. Each night* choose a player. You become the opposite alignment but don't learn this. You might misregister as any role or alignment.

This is a 4th character, it was argued that 2 & 3 were a pair so therefore a 4th should also be submitted. I'm not sure I like this one, it seems a bit boring to play as, but could also potentially lead to some pretty fun play for the group.

Any feedback would be great, especially on any exploits or weaknesses I might have missed. I've got a full 2 weeks to get this script together. I doubt I would put the custom in the first game - but right now I'm leaning towards Ravana on a bmr-type script alongside a Po, Yagg + Shab.
