Anyone feel like their house is never clean?

My partner and I clean our house around once a week/bi weekly. It takes us several hours, yet I find im always finding dust the next day or stuff on the floor. It stresses me out that it never stays clean. How do you all cope with this?

I (32M) had a falling out with my best friend (also 32M) 7 months ago. We have not spoken in person or online since.

Long story short, we had a group chat of 4 - me, him and our spouses. My friend and I had a relationship where we would enjoy discussing controversial issues together. It was my understanding we both found it intellectually stimulating. It never got heated.

7 months ago my friend brought up a controversial issue in our group chat. He and I were discussing it as we normally would. We went back and forth a bit, and then out of seemingly nowhere, my friends spouse attacked my character. I was shocked. Fast forward a few days with no contact, my friend messaged me. I told him how I felt. My friend defended his spouses behavior, which i found completely shocking. It was like i was talking to a different person, not the friend I knew for 15 years. From there, I opted to end contact.

Unfortunately, we are still part of a larger friend group. He often invites them over to his place, hangs out with them, while excluding me and my spouse obviously. The people in this friend group are aware of the falling out, but none of them have taken sides. I think theyre uncomfortable.

With that context out of the way, im posting today because I feel strangely about all of it. I just feel so....numb. All these people Ive known for so long, I kind of just want to say that I don't want to see them anymore. I dont want to be involved in this nonsense politics where he is clearly trying to "win them over" to his side. I havent said anything cause im afraid ill change my mind and regret it.

I truly loved and trusted my friend. I felt like we were brothers. I cannot believe how he treated me. It had made me question the entire point of friendship. Do I even need friends anyway?

Figured this might be a good place to get some perspective from people who have gone through similar experiences. Thanks for reading!
