I just completed my IUI #2 a few hours ago (WAY earlier than normal, I usually am ready to trigger around CD 17-19, today was CD 12)
The nurse took my baseline sonogram on CD4 (I started bleeding on a Friday at 4PM and couldn’t get an appointment until the following Monday 🙃) and already had something visible on my right ovary. The nurse measured it and said it looked like a cyst which was odd, I’ve never had one and don’t have PCOS.
A week later after a round of Clomid I went back in for a follow up, and the “cyst” was now enormous and I was so worried the cycle would be cancelled. The nurse printed off my sonogram for my doctor to look at, and I got a call a few hours later that the cyst was actually a ginormous 26mm follicle and that I needed to trigger that night for a IUI the next morning. I rush ordered the Ovidrel from my pharmacy and thank GOD hubby was able to get into work late that morning. His counts are fantastic, my clinic had told me he is “astonishingly fertile” lol
My last (unsuccessful) round was 21mm, and Doctor Google is now telling me that my 26mm is on the very large end of what a successful follicle typically is. Do I have anything to be worried about here?
