Today was Miko's day 💚💔

His liver cancer progressed very rapidly over this week and we decided the best for him was to schedule a euthanasia appointment. When I woke up this morning, I felt almost relieved that he would be in peace today. It only took a couple minutes for him and it was so peaceful. He was ready to go but was hanging on for us. The vet said the second dose usually takes 4 minutes but it only took 1 for him. The wife and I are doing the best we can, and his sister, Thea is starting to grieve along with us after getting back. Thank you all for your kind words during this time, I'll post about Thea here when we go on her first solo trip in almost 7 years. Thanks again, his some pictures of him throughout his short, yet adored life💚

If anyone is wondering, we are getting him cremated and the vet we go to did an amazing job throughout this whole process.

Update on Miko

For context; diagnosed with liver cancer on 4/30 at the age of 6. We were told all we can do is keep him comfortable until it's time. He was prescribed a steroid and anti-nausea to help with appetite. My last account was also hacked so I had to make a new one.

The update: he's doing okay right now. He's living off of plain McDonald's cheeseburgers (he doesn't eat mine), whipped cream and fried chicken. Our prys have never been food motivated but the fluid in his abdomen is causing him to not have an appetite at all. It's a struggle to get food in him everyday and he's lost so much weight since early April. He's still wagging his tail when I come home, occasionally barking at the usual car who drives by to loud and fast, and can jump up onto our tall bed. Keeping you guys updated on his journey at this time. Thank you all for your comments. It's helped a lot during this time. We took him to Lake Michigan one last time and also took him on a one night road trip since we always take him on our trips
