What Does a Modern Film/VFX Pipeline Look Like in 2026?

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to better understand what the current film/VFX/cinematic pipeline looks like nowadays, especially for high-end cinematic studios and animated films.

I know Maya is still heavily used for modeling and animation, but I’m confused about what studios are mainly using today for:

  • Scene assembly
  • Layout
  • Lighting
  • Lookdev
  • Rendering

Hi everyone,

I’m an aspiring 3D Generalist working on a high fidelity cinematic short film for my portfolio, and I’m looking for a voice actor to voice the lead character, Marcus as I didn't want to use Ai at all and would prefer a real voice and hopefully help a fellow artist gain more exposure.

I don't want to make this a long post so I've included all the details in this google form where you can also upload your audition:

Looking forward to hearing your takes!
