Some layout updates. Really happy with how this is coming along. Since my last post, I added some ground coverage, static grass, a pre-built Woodland Scenics barn, moss along the mountainside, and various trees. I had originally planned on making my own trees, but ended up finding a 50 pack of some basic pine trees for cheap. I made a batch of my own turf blend to apply to the trees for some more “naturalism” and I’m really happy with how they’ve turned out. I’ll have some additional sized trees coming in as well to break up the repetition and plan on filling most of the mountain with trees. I also need to lay my ballast and I’m a bit torn on what type of ballast I’d like to put down to look seamless with my ground terrain and current track. For a few weeks worth of work, it’s safe to say I’m very pleased with how it’s turning out.
