My mom had a CABGx 4 in 2015. Found aortic stenosis a few years later and have been monitoring with frequent echos. She had her routine cardiology appt yesterday and the stenosis has progressed so it's time for surgery.
Her symptoms are hard to discern as she also has complicated migraines that manifest as dizziness but she says she has been feeling "worse" lately.
I'm a 20+ year nurse and I know enough to make myself crazy while we wait for the surgery consult to get scheduled. I expect it will be a TAVR, not an open chest, as that's been the conversation all along.
I don't even know if I have a question today. I think I just needed to send this out into this sub where I know people get it.
I guess, yeah I do have a question. I'd appreciate stories of anyone whose elderly loved one did well after aortic valve replacement. I worked in the the ER and ICU for enough years to have seen the ones that go bad so today I'm trying not to get lost there.
