I've been looking in to options to replace our 2008 Rav4 V6. The gas mileage isn't great and we're starting to think it might be time to upgrade. We drive 10-15,000 miles a year, including at least one road trip to Baja California from Vancouver Island - about 2500 miles each way - towing a 1500 lb tear drop camping trailer.

So I thought I would ask here. Is the Rav4 Prime the best solution for us? I like the great gas mileage and the fact that for most of our driving, which is typically 10-30 mile commutes return, we can run off battery. If anyone has towing experience I'd love to hear it. Is the Rav up to the task? Any issues? How's the gas mileage while towing?
