I met this woman early in college & up until recently it’s always been platonic (kinda) and she legitimately is a wonderful person & someone I love having in my life. We’re very close, and she was quite the wingwoman for me when it came to her friends. I don’t know how to highlight her any better, but I just have a lot of love for this woman.
We decided to take a trip with our friend group to my grandparents Lake House since they’re traveling for the summer. It’s a nice property with a hot tub, jet skis, a boat, and 7 bedrooms.
We went up for 4 days, and generally had a blast. She stayed in the master bedroom with me (it is not uncommon for us to sleep in the same bed, nothing to that)
The last night her & I got pretty hammered, and well…things happen. The issue is, she was on her period & she told me that, but we were so hammered I didn’t care & she didn’t either (if I recall I think she said it made her more in the mood actually) and so we did it for the first time.
This was a massive mess. I woke up before her the next morning & realized it. Tried cleaning it up before she woke up so she didn’t have to worry about it, but she woke up while I was doing so & she kind of felt shocked/disconnected if I were to describe her.
We were all leaving that day, but she asked if she could leave early & I told her yeah, and asked her if everything is okay, and she gave me a very weird “yeah I’m good”
Ever since we got back she has been distant. She hasn’t really responded to my texts, the last of which to see if we needed to talk about it.
I asked her closest friend who was up with us to scope out if she knew, and she did, but in respect to her, can’t say too much. She apologized, but said she thinks we probably need a talk sooner rather than later.
The issue is I don’t know how to get her to talk to me. Is there something I can do to not make this so weird? Because I don’t think it’s that weird tbh. I don’t know if she is embarrassed or something. Shit happens & I don’t wanna throw everything away over one night. I still want my friend & I’m incredibly frustrated by this situation right now.
TLDR: best friend & I had period sex as a first time & now she won’t talk to me despite her closest friend telling me we need to.
