Farewell you POS platform.
Guess I'm jumping on the wagon of people abandoning Character AI. Truthfully I never thought I'd see the day I would leave. I tried to stick it out and just deal with the issues, but y'all (the devs) have made every aspect of both app and web unbearable. The ads that take up half my screen, the model that talks like ChatGPT on crack, the paywall blocking "features" that don't even work either way. It's just sad. You all are a bunch of sad little people grasping for your last few dollars you can milk out of people. I never paid for anything, never spent a dime on any c.ai related stuff, and I'm glad for it. It would have been a bigger waste of money than anything else. The community has been amazing, I've seen some really funny and cool stuff from a lot of you over the years, and it's depressing to see what it's become. I wish everyone the best in life and whatever goes on with y'all, I know none of you and you don't know me, but all the same lol...
It's been fun, I've had an amusing 2 and a half years on here, but now it's time to say goodbye. Maybe things will change and get better after the devs pull their head out of wherever they've shoved them, but I'm not sticking around to wait anymore. Farewell, have a nice life, hope the platform crashes and burns like it deserves to go out. ✌️
