Does this tire need to be immediately changed?

Arguing with a friend about their tire and since neither of us are that knowledgeable we wanted some other opinions. We can't tell if that line is the thread and showing signs of structural damage or just superficial. Thanks!

How does the Allpa backpack weather coating hold up over time?

I am considering getting the Allpa 26L backpack and was hoping to hear from people who have owned one for a while how has the weather-resistant coating held up over time? Does it still repel light rain after months or years of use, or does it wear down pretty quickly? I am not expecting it to be fully waterproof, but I am curious whether the bag stays reasonably protective in normal wet conditions.

I would also appreciate any general long-term feedback on the backpack itself. How have the fabric, stitching, zippers, and overall structure held up? Are there any issues that only became noticeable after extended use?

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Hi everyone,

I am looking for some advice on an everyday carry backpack. I have used a messenger bag for years, but I am ready to switch to a backpack for daily use.

My typical carry would be:

  • Laptop
  • Light jacket, usually a rain shell or windbreaker
  • Over-ear headphones
  • Sunglasses, battery pack, and other small miscellaneous items
  • Occasionally a little extra room for whatever comes up during the day

I already have an older Patagonia Refugio 30L that I like, so I do not necessarily need something huge. That bag is a little bigger than I want for daily use, though, and I would also prefer something with better weather resistance.

The main things I am looking for are:

  • Comfortable carry
  • Dedicated laptop space
  • A usable/sizable water bottle pocket
  • Decent rain resistance
  • Enough structure and size that it does not feel tiny

One thing that has shaped my search is that I am a bigger person, so very small backpacks can look a little comically small on me. I realize my actual EDC needs could probably fit in a smaller bag, but I am looking in the 22–26L range because that size seems to make more sense on my frame while still being manageable for daily use.

So far, the bags that have caught my eye are the Evergoods CHZ 22/26 and the Cotopaxi 26L Daypack. I would love to hear any thoughts from people who have used either of those, and I am also open to other recommendations in that general size range if there are bags people have really enjoyed.

Thanks in advance!
