Roborock V8 Pro lost suction and no longer empties into dock station
My Roborock V8 Pro has gradually stopped vacuuming properly and also no longer empties its dustbin into the dock station. It still picks up light dust and hair, but larger debris (like cereal) is ignored completely. The robot shows no errors, makes normal suction sounds, and I can feel some airflow while it’s running on the side, although I don't know how strong it should be.
What I already tried:
- Fully cleaned robot and dock station
- Cleaned all suction paths and checked for blockages with a flashlight
- Replaced dust bag in the dock
- Replaced filters, main brushes, and side brush
- Cleaned sensors, dustbin, and this motor filter aside the dustbin
- Cleaned and blew out the fan with compressed air
Observations:
- Dust collects inside the robot dustbin, but the dock station does not extract it
- The filter inside the robot gets clogged with dust that never gets emptied, so I have to empty it regularly by hand
- Even repeated manual “empty dustbin” commands do not empty the dustbin into the bag
- No unusual noises or warning messages in the app
- The vacuum module underneath seems slightly tilted, but it looks similar in videos online
The robot was purchased in July 2023, so it’s under 3 years old.
I already contacted the Roborock support, and they said I should send the unit in for repair, although they can't say how much it's gonna cost, and I have to pay for shipping myself, as I'm out of the warranty.
Any advice on how to repair it myself? Should I open it myself (I once was a computer technician, so this shouldn't be a problem), or just send it in and hope for a not too high bill?
