I called the county office for emergency preparedness public phone number.
The county is likely going to put an official announcement regarding the alert later but for now, I wanted to let anyone coming here looking for answers about it know that I was told the following:
It is NOT likely to happen again or monthly as the message said. It was a one-off.
If you got the alert, cool! You'll get alerts when/if real emergencies happen. There are opt out options in your phone settings if you want, but you'd miss future real alerts if they came up.
The phone number is available on their public website if anyone wants to reach out themselves but I was told that they are getting many calls about this and the main thing they're saying now is "no it's not going to be a regular occurrence"
