I'm at that time where I feel like I need to start truly commiting to a career path. Of course it's never too late to turn back, but from what I've learned and what I learned I need to learn (woah thats a lot), I'm getting that CS is something that takes one of the longest amounts of time to become proficient. I've always enjoyed coding, learning python and JS (not very well, python up to basic OOP and JS to 3D arrays), and dabbing into html and css all in my freetime (making basic websites for fun).

However, I see that the job market is horrible right now, and for every person saying that CS jobs will make a comeback there's another sharing how they lost everything and how not worth it it was.

Do you guys genuinely think that this is just a dark age for CS and it'll recover in a few years or is it just downhill from here? For me right now it's not looking too convincing, as hundreds of thousands of people get laid off or rejected from jobs around the world. I want to pursue my passion, but also more importantly I want to be able to support my parents and potential future family.
