[Idea] Genetic engineering used for rapid domestication of wild animals.

Another spec evo idea I had, but instead of post-human Australia, it's what if we as a species, used genetic engineering to induce the traits and requirments for domestication in other species: make it easier for them to breed in captivity, a rapid growth rate & short birthing times, a docile temperament, a flexible diet & adaptability, etc. In this idea, it'd take a look at a few different species that artificially domesticated and the reasoning for it. Examples include:

Domestic Rhinoceros bred primarily for horn & hyde, but has also been bred for use as "war horses"

Barnyard Pangolins bred primarily for scales, flesh and somtimes kept as pets for those who wants something mroe adventurous than a hamster or a dog.

Faux "BIG CATS" that are actually various breeds of house cat, that have had big/wild cat genetics put into them to mimic their true, wild counterparts. Mostly as a means of making money, but it also helps cut down on the illegal pet trade by providing a much safer, easier to care for alternative to real big cats. i.e.: better to raise a super sized house cat that looks like a tiger, than an actual tiger.

Guard Bears that are half the size of a wild bear with a diet more akin to that of a facultative herbivore and the added instincts and personality of guardian breeds of dogs (like shepards and mastiffs). Used for defending large livestock and extra secure facilities. Sometimes kept by high ranking officials as status symbols. However, some strains of these domestic bears are also kept on farms to harvest their bial and paws.

Some of animals were artificlaly domesticated solely for the purposes of big game hunting. This includes the South Texas Bison, North European Pygmy Hippo, and Silk Furred Giraffe.

If I had a nickel every time Seth Rogen appeared in a movie playing an animated pig-

I'd have five nickels! Which isn't a lot, but there's definately a pattern.
