Old rooster. Long spur.
I was given this rooster last year who was getting overcame by his offspring Roos. Person said he was at least 5….so probably older. Any guess what breed he is…I never asked….didn’t matter to me at the time. He came with one spur and one missing. The spur has doubled in size in less than a year. Am I supposed to do something to it…trim it or something? Not sure but I think he stands all the time because of its length….or maybe he stands because he hears me coming. He is a good rooster, keeps peace in the coop and stays alert while the hens are ranging.
TLDR old roster rehomed to me has long spur and I want to know if I need to trim it because it has doubled in size in less than a year.
