Hello, recently my upper back gums on my right side near the second to last molar started to be inflamed. I floss kinda aggressively, so I thought it might’ve been that. My tooth doesn't hurt, but I did feel a lesion near the gum line with my finger nail, and it was sensitive when my nail caught on it. I’m assuming I have a cavity, can the lesion be treated with a filling and my tooth be saved? Or is root canal standard for caries near the gum line? Currently out of state for school and haven’t looked into dentists near by to see if they’ll accept me.
