Hi folks, I need help. The noise is taking me out. Does anyone have tips??
(NOTE: MOVING IS NOT AN OPTION unfortunately)

Is there anything I’m missing or haven’t thought of??

What I’m dealing with:
- Police/ambulance sirens (probably most upsetting bc it’s all day/night)
- Train passing/honking (again, all hours)
- Loud car or motorcycle engines
- Airplanes (commercial and regional)

I have ear plugs, ear pods and noise cancelling headphones. The amount of time I need to use those at work constantly I’m already beyond my capacity by the time I get home. I already hate shit in my ears but deal with it as much as I can.

I also have two sound machines, and even having those on consistently drives me insane. I have “sound absorbing” tiles (they’re totally ineffective.)

I’m shopping for thick curtains and fluffier rugs… I’m also low income.

But I’m also stubborn as shit so I won’t be giving up on this.

I’m newly diagnosed so I’m trying to get into the swing of things and take you guys as the experts on your own experience rather than people who don’t understand.

Please and THANK YOU so much!!!

Hello all, I am so confused. I just received the report from my evaluation over the weekend. I am now officially diagnosed ASD, however this blurb has me so confused! Has anyone else experienced this who ended up getting diagnosed? Im totally ruminating and trying not to… anyone??

“Over-Reporting

Possible over-reporting is indicated by the assertion of a larger-than-average number of symptoms rarely described by individuals with genuine severe psychopathology. This may have arisen due to inconsistent responding, severe psychopathology, or overreporting. Possible over-reporting is indicated by an unusual combination of responses that are associated with non-credible reporting of somatic and or cognitive symptoms. This may have arisen due to inconsistent responding, significant and or multiple medical conditions, and over-reporting of somatic or cognitive complaints”

I’ll have a follow up soon, but I could use some insight if this has been the case for other folks, too.
