hi! ive been wanting to learn to do photography for my local music scene and wanted to get a second-hand camera to start off with. i take a lot of photos and videos for my friends who are musicians, usually with my phone or old digicam. ive even played around with getting videos for them on my nintendo 3DS lol but id love to find a decent cheap camera to maybe do a bit more for them.

id love some advice either on specific cameras but also what to research for in a camera! i mostly photograph small venues/diy shows for my local punk/alternative music scene. im not looking for any crazy publication level quality but something i can play with as a beginner :]

i filled out the questionaire some of it might be repetitive but again im not totally sure what to look for yet so any advice is helpful !!

Budget: preferably under 350-450CAD

Country: canada

Condition: Used

Type of Camera: idk exactly what to look for yet thats why im asking for help X_X

Intended use: personal use, hobby photography. i want to learn how to do photography for my local music scene, so small venue concerts, punk/diy shows, raves etc.

• If photography; what style: portraits, concert photography

• If video what style: again for filming music and shows^ im probably gonna focus on photography atm.

• What features do you absolutely need: good low light photography,

• What features would be nice to have: good zoom but im mostly going to be using it for small venues so it doesnt have to be crazy good. low light video would be a nice bonus.

• Portability: at least able to fit in my backpack or purse and not be really heavy. large-scale venue restrictions arent a concern.

• Cameras you're considering: ive been looking into the nikon d610, (or the d7200/7500 but theyre a bit more expensive), and canon EOS models.

• Cameras you already have: only my phone (samsung s25) camera and ive been playing around with my old sony cybershot digicam

• Notes: im veeerrry new to this so im not really sure what to look for in a camera for this type of stuff ^ so even reccomendations on things to research would be helpful :)
