The game used to launch and work without any issues before the update that iDsoftware pushed on Aug,8 2025.
I'm on a Dell G15 5515 laptop running windows 11,25H2 (26200.8246).
Specs: AMD Ryzen 5 5600H with 16GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU (4 GB)
I have tried the following troubleshooting steps.
- Reinstalling the game multiple times.
- Verifying the files integrity.
- Left it at the loading screen that was displayed when i click start in the steam launcher(Image attached) for more than 3 hours.
- Tried launching the game with the new idTechLauncher.exe that was added with the above mentioned update.
- Tried launching the game without launching the steam client by launching the doom eternal executable file.
- Tried updating the graphics card driver.
- Tried updating windows.
- Tried updating steam client.
- Tried switching to beta release of steam and back to public release.
- Tried launching in offline mode.
- Tried launching with admin privileges.
If you guys need anymore info I will provide it as quickly as possible.
I really like this game and replay it from time to time (110 hours as of now). I was really excited for the mods update. Please help. TIA.
