Before signing up I ran my address through Mint's coverage checker and got a green light. Switched two lines over, neither phone had any signal. Contacted support and they told me my address isn't covered by any towers at all, and they knew that.
Had to go back to Verizon within 24 hours and got hit with $80 in reactivation fees for the privilege.
Mint refunded my signup fee but won't cover the Verizon fees I incurred because of their bad coverage data. I'm filing an FTC complaint.
Has anyone else had this happen? Feels like the coverage checker is more of a sales tool than an accurate network map — especially for anyone outside a major city.
