Newer Corolla’s

I’ve been looking at getting a Toyota. I was thinking about the Camry, but I feel like budget wise I should get Corolla. My two main questions are exactly how small is the Corolla compared to the Camry with the newer models from the last handful of years? Do the newer models still get loud on the highways and such? I have my nephews most of the week and they are about middle school age. Would it be too small for them in the backseat? For those that have driven bother newer models, why would you pick the Corolla over the Camry and vice versa?

Thanks for any help.

Is it time to sell?

I’m just looking for some advice on my 19 Jetta with 189,000 miles.

I drive a lot of work and usually put about 25,000 miles or so on my car in a year. The last three years I’ve had numerous repair issues. This usually happens about the same time frame.

The attached picture is the current list of repairs needed. The Water Pump I’ve had replaced twice already. Once In 2024 and again in 2025. Now it needs it again for lucky number three. In 2024 I put about $3,000 in repairs including the Water Pump, among other issues. In 2025 I put well over $5,000 into it, again, including the Water Pump among other issues. Now it needs another almost $2,200.

My car is in good shape body wise with only a small dent in the front and some cosmetic wear and tear in the center console. I feel like I’d be lucky to get a few grand for it just because of the mileage if I were to sell it. I only have a few more months of payments left before it’s paid off.

I know there are some die hard Jetta enthusiasts on here, but realistically, what do you think I should do? Fix it or sell it? What would you do if you were in my position? I don’t want to have to keep putting so much money into a car that I’ll probably be lucky to get another year or two out of. One day I might not have the money to fix it and I hate the thought of going out and having to buy another car or getting put in another loan payment when this one is so close to being paid off, but I’m trying to think long term.

Thanks for reading all of this and for any advice that you may decide to give.

TL:DR. I drive a lot for work. My car with 189,000 miles needs to go to the hospital again with the same diagnosis it usually has, among other issues. After paying almost $10,000 to get it fixed over the last couple of years, is it finally time to say goodbye?
