Is this good?

Since I received some very useful information in my other post,I thought I'd ask about this from my new roof install.

There is a tab from the front facing that is tucked underneath and secured to the side.

I'm not claiming it's bad or wrong, I don't know. I'm admittedly very ignorant. I'm very curious and I also want to be proactive in understanding how my home is constructed.

Is this to code

Just had the entire roof replaced. The gutters were preexisting but still fairly new. I wasn't expecting to have you replace the roof. I need to go back and check if that's wood or metal under the gutter hanger.

Either way it seems odd to make a cut out. Locally it looks like we follow the 2021 IRC. I don't want to be a pain, but I don't want rotted wood. Especially from a "premium" roofer
