I have 5+ years of experience across investment banking, hedge funds, and buy-side equity research, and I’m building an AI-native tool for hedge fund analysts.

The goal is to move fast: build an MVP in a sprint, apply to YC early, and win through execution, industry insight, and strategic partnerships. Most AI tools in finance are still too general-purpose. My thesis is that hedge fund analysts need a purpose-built workflow layer, starting with Excel.

The initial wedge is an AI tool that helps analysts build, populate, update, and maintain financial models faster. Longer term, the vision is to expand into a broader research and analysis ecosystem built specifically for investment professionals.

I’m looking for a technical cofounder with strong full-stack experience who wants to build fast, iterate with users, and go all in. I bring the industry expertise, product vision, customer access, and business side. I need a partner who can own the technical build and be credible to YC, investors, and early customers.

Hi fellow cofounders, I’m looking for someone who’d be interested in building an AI tool that lives primarily within excel (for now) and automates the modeling work for hedge fund analysts (initial wedge).

There are some tools that are trying to do this, one in particular is pretty decent (but they’re not focused enough). I have some key differentiators which are driven by my experience working in the industry. I’ve worked both at an investment bank as well as a hedge fund and I’ve spent the last 6 months coming up with startup ideas.

My ideal cofounder is experienced with high-quality, user-facing software for Excel and financial modeling workflows. Ideally, this person has strong full-stack engineering experience, understands AI product development, and can move quickly from concept to MVP. They have to be located in the US.

My goal is to apply for YC funding right away with just the idea or a basic MVP. The idea is thought through, but that’s why I need someone who can build and look good on paper as well (aka a background in big tech helps). I’m okay to bootstrap as well but would like to try and launch and scale sooner than later hence YC is what I’m aiming for.
