Tips for a "Rolling" Outrun Bass in TripleOscillator?

Hey all,

I’m working on a Synthwave track and I'm struggling to get the bass right using the Triple Oscillator. I’m aiming for an Outrun vibe—think fast 1/8th notes with a lot of grit and movement.

I've searched YouTube but most tutorials use Vital or Serum. If you have any advice on how to stack the oscillators or how to set the envelope/filter inside LMMS to get that snappy attack, I’d really appreciate it!

Any screenshots or project file examples would be a lifesaver. Cheers!

Hi everyone,

I’m completely new to Linux, Bazzite, and music production, so I have zero experience with this. I really need some step-by-step help.

Here is my current setup:

  • My OS: Bazzite (I know it's an immutable/atomic distro, but I barely know what that means in practice).
  • My DAW: LMMS. I installed it directly from the built-in app store on my system (called Bazaar). I assume this means it's a Flatpak.
  • My Goal: I want to install and use the "Sonata Orchestra" VST inside LMMS.

My problem: I have absolutely no idea how to do this. I don't know where to put the downloaded VST files, how to make LMMS recognize them, or if I need to install any extra tools (like Wine or anything else) to make it work since I'm on Bazzite.

Could someone please explain it to me like I'm 5 years old? A step-by-step guide on how to go from downloading the VST to actually playing it in LMMS would be a lifesaver.

Thank you so much in advance!

Edit: I meant Sonatia Orchestra
