Smoke coming from valve cover?
Doing a smoke test, and With the cardboard there, the smoke does not seem to be coming from the injector, but from behind it. And without the cardboard it doesn't roll up from the intake manifold. So that leads me to believe it is from the vcg area. But smoke shouldn't come from there right?
The only possibility in my mind is that it is somehow leaking into the engine through the cylinders, as that's where the smoke would go from the manifold?
Also worth noting is that I replaced the vcg 2 months ago, and I did 1000+ km before having it apart again. And during that time it wasn't idling rough or anything. So why would it suddenly be leaking now?
What should I do next?
Thanks
Should injectors be able to wobble?
As seen it seems to not sit nicely, it can't go any further, and I did oil it a bit before inserting. Is this normal?
Do I need to put the fuel rail back on to do a smoke test?
As title, doing the injectors again to see if the oring came off. But how much needs to be put back to test it again? Will smoke escape from the top of the injectors? And if so will it even make any difference as they're so small?
So using the smoke machin, smoke is coming from the injector 4 area( looking from front of engine). I'm guessing it's either the intake manifold gasket or the little oring around the injector?
Is there anything else that could be causing a leak here?
Thanks
