Kind of a complaint, kind of just ranting, advice if you can?
For context, Im 19, have my own money, wanted to move my line from my mom's name/family account to my own name. Went in person, got it all done. Easy right?
I get home and find out they just opened another account in my mom's name and moved my line to it. My social, phone number, and email are all attached to the account, but my mom's name is under the legal name section and her name shows up when I call anyone.
My mom calls to get it fixed but because the account is less than 60 days old, we have to go in person to fix it.
We go back, the same kid who did it the first time tried to open another account to move it to, then let's me know that they can't do anything because I dont have a driver's license and they can't use my military ID. So its just stuck unless I can aquire a state ID or driver's license.
Then, we go to another att store across town to see if its just this store that's the issue. We tell them the issue, looks like it can be fixed easy. Nope. They suspect the kid that made the account originally had scanned my mom's ID and its now attached to the account? Apparently he could get accused of fraud or something, so we have to get it fixed at the original store. Said to just talk to the manager and that they just need a form of ID with my legal name on it.
We go back to the other store again and try to ask for the manager. I felt really bad cuz this kid is still here and we're asking him for his manager. Manager comes over and says they can't do anything unless I have a driver's license and they can't do any form of transfer of responsibility. Says to call customer service if we really want it fixed right now.
Im not angry but I am pretty annoyed. Just a bunch of wasted time and my phone is still under my mother's name.
