approached a girl..
So today was our Scribble Day, the last day of school . We enjoyed it a lot; the whole event took place in a park. For context, I’ve talked to very few girls throughout school and didn’t really know any of them as friends. Our school doesn’t have a farewell ceremony, and boys and girls have separate floors.
During the event, I noticed a girl whose vibe I liked, and I thought of approaching her with the hope of making a new friend (I’ve never approached any girl before). So, I decided to get her signature on my shirt, just like all the other students were doing. She was with a group of friends, and I didn’t want to interrupt them. Later, when she was leaving the park, I finally asked her, “Hi, would you please sign this?”
She replied, “I’m really sorry, but I can’t,” and I said, “Oh, it’s okay,” and walked back to my three friends.
It felt weird because the way she said it didn’t seem like she was rejecting me—it felt like there was some other reason. I wasn’t expecting that kind of response since I was just asking for a signature, like everyone else. If I had approached her to talk and she had refused, that would’ve been fine. But her way of saying no was… a little different.
I didn’t feel sad at all—not even 1 percent. In fact, I was happy that I at least tried. But I do feel a little curious about what her reason might have been. What’s your take on this, guys? What do you think?
Overall, the day was an amazing experience, and it was totally worth it.
