I was originally sentenced to three years of probation for a marijuana offense. At the exact halfway mark (18 months), the judge was prepared to grant me early termination. However, on that same day I committed a technical violation by leaving the county without permission. As a result, I was arrested and spent three weeks in jail.
The judge then sentenced me to one year of house arrest, followed by the remaining 18 months of my original probation. I have now been on house arrest for two weeks, and the strict confinement is taking a severe toll on my mental health. The isolation and restrictions are mentally and emotionally exhausting, leaving me drained and struggling to maintain any sense of normalcy or productivity.
As an entrepreneur and investor, I need to travel frequently to generate income, which is currently impossible under these restrictions. Completing another 30 months of supervision feels impossible.
I have already served a total of 75 days in custody. I previously discussed this situation with my former attorney. I understand that I cannot be sent to state prison and that the judge is unlikely to impose the full one-year county jail term that the DA originally wanted.
The reason I am explaining all of this is to ask: Given the technical violation of leaving the county, can I voluntarily self-revoke my probation and request a short jail sentence in its place instead of continuing on house arrest and the remaining probation?

I was on state probation for 3 years and got my first technical violation for leaving the county 8 days before my early termination date which is my halfway mark. The judge was going to grant my early termination, but I obviously screwed it up. I sat in jail for three weeks and then got sentenced to one year of community control, followed by the rest of my probation. I’m on probation for possession of marijuana over 20 grams. My question is that I want to move to Colombia for a year as I have work opportunity and family over there and I’d be bringing my child with me. I have no family in the city I’m living in and I’m confined to my residence. Obviously this is a punishment and I understand that, but I wanted to know if anybody in this subreddit can give me an opinion on the situation.
