I just started selling a couple months ago & Im curious about other sellers who put this in their bio/item for sale info. My guess is that they want the buyer to message them so they can ‘unboost’ the item & therefore get more funds rather than it go to depop? Some buyers will also say send offers as well. Now, I got an offer for a dress I was selling & quickly before accepting it, I went to unboost the item before accepting the offer. However I when the sale was completed & I clicked one the item it said ‘sold boosted item’ so I emailed Depop about this to understand how it works & they said it was sold as boosted because the buyer saw it while it was a boosted item & put in an offer on said boosted item.

So why are sellers putting message me first before buying & send me offers if that is the case? They will be charged boosting fees regardless

How do you go about getting your items seen & avoid boosting items?

Thanks so much in advance, I’m just trying to understand it all
