Fluval Bio Stratum and pH crashes
I have a tank set up that currently only has neo shrimps in it. I've been waiting to add a Betta because my pH keeps crashing. I suspect it's from the Fluval Bio Stratum I put in the tank. It's a 20 gallon long with about 3/4 cup of the Fluval Bio. It says it keeps the pH neutral to slightly acidic, but every three days or so my pH will crash from my target pH of 6.8 to 6. I'm assuming because it says the stratum lowers kH as well. How am I supposed to keep my pH stable if the stratum is constantly lowering my kH to cause pH crashes? Should I remove it? Is the Fluval Betta Stratum better? I bought 12 shrimp and in the span of a month I only have 2 left.
I've recently been adding Alkaline Buffer and Neutral Regulator to keep it from crashing.
